Chocolate Demoulding Systems

Demoulding chocolate is a critical stage in chocolate production, ensuring each piece maintains its intended shape, releases cleanly from the mould, and presents a flawless, high-quality surface.

Precision at this point protects product integrity, reduces waste, and keeps production moving efficiently. Whether you’re upgrading existing equipment or building a new line, our automated systems deliver consistent results at industrial speeds.

Ensure your chocolate retains its shape with high-quality demoulding lines.

Chocolate demoulding: how and when it’s used

Demoulding happens towards the end of a production line, releasing products cleanly and returning moulds to circulation.

Robotic systems take on tasks that would otherwise be delicate and slow. They can also replace older equipment, such as cooling spirals, which brings flexibility and steadier throughput.

Robotic platforms and specs

  • Hi-flex system: Three-dimensional motion for edge trimming, base stripping, and demoulding, with a gearless linear servo robot. Accuracy better than 0.1 mm, designed for low-maintenance pick-and-place.
  • Yaskawa robot range: Working envelopes from 300 to 2400 mm, payloads for tools from 3 to 100 kg, and speeds up to 24 cycles per minute. Suitable for cooling or heating cells, mould handling, station changes, bottom and edge stripping, and demoulding.

Chocolate demoulding: need to know

Automated demoulding system with multiple blue suction heads lifting products from moulds.
  • Blockers and bottlenecks: Release problems or worn moulds slow lines and increase rework, plan for condition monitoring and timely tooling swaps.
  • Product variation: Different shapes and sizes may require alternate grippers or program changes.
  • Batch size and scale: Short runs need quick changeovers, high-volume plants depend on fast, repeatable robotic cycles.
  • Integration: Align demould speed with upstream cooling and downstream pack-out; otherwise stoppages stack up.
  • Efficiency: Automation reduces manual handling, stabilises quality, and lowers unplanned downtime.
